The iPhone destroyed BlackBerry Jobs
The strong competition from Apple's iPhone and the Dell vostro 1400 batteries will force the BlackBerry-maker RIM to job cuts. The company would "streamline its operations, this includes a reduction in headcount," RIM announced late Thursday (local time) at Waterloo in Canada. How many people have stopped going to further consideration.
Smartphones sold less than expected
RIM had a difficult first quarter behind it, admitted a co-CEO Jim Balsillie. From April to May, the company sold 13.2 million mobile phones and HP pavilion dv7 batteries so than expected. From his new Tablet PC RIM playbook 500,000 units was going on. By comparison, Apple took off within three months of last iPads 18.7 million and 4.7 million iPhones. "Until then, it's a long way for RIM," said one analyst.
While RIM could do more business than in the same period last year, when the entire smartphone market was still small. Compared with the previous quarter, but sales declined by 12 percent to 4.9 billion dollars - that is unusual in the booming Dell Inspiron 6000 batteries. The profit fell by 26 percent to $ 695 million bottom line.
Descent continues
"The slowdown that we saw in the first quarter, continues in the second quarter," said Balsillie and then lowered its profit forecast for the full year. Investors were shocked: After Hours, the stock fell by more than 15 percent, continuing its downward trend of recent months. Not even a parallel-announced share buyback, which really drives the price was able to stop the decline.
RIM is preparing additional worries that many customers prefer to access Lenovo 3000 V100 batteries in which the producer earns less than the top models. While BlackBerrys were a status symbol of the former manager, today they are often an entry-level model.
RIM is a pioneer in the smartphone world. The company continued however to long for a bulky keyboard, while the Apple iPhone with its large, HP pavilion dv3 batteries paved the path. Strongest power in the smartphone market is the market researcher's data, however, now Google with its Android operating system that exists in a variety of models from different manufacturers.
